The aim of this course is to familiarize students with advanced topics in modelling 3D objects represented as point clouds and polygonal meshes obtained from 3D scanners. The course presents methods for organizing and storing such data in memory, with emphasis on efficient access for visualization, rendering, and computational analysis of 3D structures. It also introduces a range of file formats for exchanging 3D graphics data, enabling students to select the most appropriate format for a given application. The focus shifts from general visualization techniques to the preparation of spatial models for 3D printing.
