The present module is dedicated to selected phenomena related to the uniqueness of multicultural societies, which manifests itself both in philosophical reflection and in a variety of texts of culture (literary texts, non-fiction and historical texts, texts present in the public space). The central aim of the lecture is to help the students expand their knowledge on the tragic history of race relations in a world stigmatized by the consequences of Eurocentrism (colonialism, neocolonialism) as well as contemporary racial and ethnic relations in the western culture after September 11th 2001. The module serves to allow the students to broaden the knowledge that they have previously gained in the course of their participation in modules focusing on history, literary history, and culture studies.

Moduł poświęcony jest wybranym zjawiskom związanym ze specyfiką społeczeństw wielokulturowych, przejawiającym się zarówno w refleksji filozoficznej, jak i w tekstach kultury (tekstach literackich, tekstach faktograficznych, w wypowiedziach obecnych w przestrzeni publicznej). Wykład służy przede wszystkim pogłębieniu wiedzy studenta na temat tragicznej historii relacji rasowych w świecie naznaczonym konsekwencjami eurocentryzmu (kolonializm, neokolonializm) oraz współczesnych relacji rasowych i etnicznych w kulturze Zachodu po 11 września 2001 roku. Moduł poszerza wiedzę, jaką student nabył uprzednio w czasie zajęć z historii, historii literatury i różnych przedmiotów kulturoznawczych.
