In this course you will get hands on experience in how personality research is done. With pre-existing datasets, you will engage in analyzes and writing of method sections, literature reviews, and discussions. If successful, this project should lead to a publication as well as a secondary benefit of the class. Lecture content will review methods and statistics in psychology along with content on survey design, basic statistical analyses, scale constructions, data cleaning, the creation of Tables and Figures, learning efficient yet adequate prose in English to describe methods and results, and learning how to situation effects within larger theoretical traditions.
